At the MacJannet Foundation, we believe in the power of education to bridge divides and foster a more connected, compassionate world.

What We Do

Since 1968, the MacJannet Foundation has promoted international understanding and active citizenship by providing scholarships and grants to cultural exchange programs and co-sponsoring the MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship. We believe in the importance of learning by doing – a philosophy championed by our founders, Donald and Charlotte MacJannet.

Lasting Impressions

Once in a Lifetime Opportunity

“The MacJannet scholarship gave me a once in a lifetime opportunity to immerse myself into new experiences and a new culture. I am thankful for everything that I was able to learn inside the classroom as well as outside the classroom, whether that involves the nuances of French music or paragliding above Lake Annecy.”

Connecting Across Cultures

“I attended the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy primarily to fulfill my dream of pursuing a career as a diplomat in the German Foreign Service. I am incredibly grateful for the MacJannet Fellowship. It allowed me to pursue my dreams, eased the financial burden of studying in the US, and connected me to a network of like-minded people.”

Enabling Social Justice

“It is such an honour to receive the prestigious MacJannet Prize. We acknowledge the volunteer lawyers and students who donate their time to the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre; and the clients who work with us through some of the most vulnerable times of their lives…We will continue to strive towards enabling access to justice for all.”

Expanding International Perspectives

“The MacJannet Foundation was instrumental in allowing me to pursue a dual degree at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Thanks to the grant, I could focus on my studies while at Fletcher and explore extracurricular opportunities I would not have otherwise had access to.”
